The Ratha Yatra is the chariot festival in India. Carrying deities of Hinduism, these are painted and decorated carts drove into the city by the faithful sing hymns and mantras. The most famous is held at Puri in Orissa state for the god Jagannath, however such popular demonstrations were also held for Krishna for example.
